Ramazan Acar, Australian ‘Facebook Killer,’ Gets Life Sentence For Murdering Daughter After Social Media Threats.

An Australian man dubbed the “Facebook killer” after posting he was “bout to kill ma kid” on the social media site before repeatedly stabbing his two-year-old daughter and leaving her to die has been sentenced to life in prison.

As the Newcastle Herald is reporting, Ramazan Acar, 24, repeatedly taunted his ex-partner, Rachelle D’Argent, on the night he killed their daughter Yazmina, known as “Mimi,” with Facebook status updates, text messages and phone calls in November 2010. Acar is said to have killed his daughter shortly after the original posting, and followed up with “payback u slut.”

The AFP reports that Acar had picked up Yazmina at D’Argent’s home earlier that day, telling her was taking the girl to a local candy shop. After taking Yazmina, Acar communicated with D’Argent by phone and via a bizarre series of text messages, at one point telling her she would not get her child back and asking whether he should kill the girl in a car crash or stab her. “How does it feel to not have your child when I did not have mine for three months?” he is quoted as saying. He also said: “I loved you Rachelle and look what you’ve made me do.”

Melbourne Magistrates Court Justice Elizabeth Curtain reportedly called the crime “chilling and horrific,” and said life in prison was the only appropriate sentence for Acar, who had pleaded guilty:

“More than that, the victim was your infant daughter, and she was killed by the one man in the world whose duty it was to love, nurture and protect her,” Justice Curtain said. “As such, your conduct was a fundamental breach of the trust that reposes between parent and child, a fundamental breach of a parent’s most fundamental obligation.

“Further, you committed this murder for the worst possible motives - revenge and spite. You killed your daughter to get back at her mother. You used your daughter, an innocent victim, as the instrument of your overarching desire to inflict pain on your former partner.”

After the verdict was read, D’Argent reportedly spoke tenderly to her dead daughter while clutching a photo. “Mimi, it’s our day today,” she said. “Mummy told you there would be justice for you…and even though I haven’t accepted that you’re not here, forever you’ll be in my heart and I know you’ll always be smiling down on all of us.”

While in custody, Acar also reportedly told police he wanted to kill himself as well, but “did not have the balls.”

Karen Elaine Cordova Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing A Burglar To Death, Critically Wounding Another (UPDATE).

Karen Elaine Cordova, 48, was arrested Monday for allegedly stabbing two men who broke into her Erie, Colorado home where she grows medical marijuana — killing one and and critically injuring the other — is being formally charged with what will likely be second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder Thursday.

According to the Longmont Times-Call, Cordova claims that Stephen Erikson, 34, and Kyle Dust, 31, broke into her house Saturday while she was home. Cordova confronted the two men and allegedly stabbed both of them, Erikson in the belly, leaving a 5-inch wound above his belly button cutting his stomach and liver, leaving Erikson alive but critically injured.

SECOND UPDATE:

Karen Elaine Cordova was released from Weld County Jail late Thursday and the district attorney’s office announced that no charges will be filed against Cordova at this time, however the investigation remains open, according to The Denver Post.

More details have emerged from the alleged robbery and act of self defense from Cordova. Sheriff’s spokesperson Margie Martinez spoke to the Daily Camera saying that Cordova never reported the burglary attempt or the fact that she had stabbed or shot anyone before the investigators arrived at her door on Monday.

Martinez went on to state to the Daily Camera that it was her understanding that investigators did not recover any weapons when searching Cordova’s property, but did find some of the marijuana plants had been pulled from their pots. Martinez also states to the Daily Camera that the Colorado’s “Make My Day” law will be taken into consideration, especially due to the nature of Dust’s fatal gunshot wounds, before making any further arrests.

However, it hasn’t been revealed where Dust was shot, but if he was shot in the back it could reveal he was fleeing the crime scene at the time which could further complicate this already complex story.

UPDATE:

As more details emerge, this case of apparent self-defense gets more complex. The Denver Post reports that Weld County Coroner’s autopsy report on Kyle Dust revealed that he died of a gunshot wound, not a stab wound, as the suspect, Karen Cordova originally told the police investigating the case.

Stephen Erikson, who was stabbed, remains in the hospital in critical condition.

EARLIER:

7News reports, that Erikson, still alive, staggerd into his Erie home when one of his roommates called 911. Erikson was taken to Lafayette Samaritan Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

In the police report Cordova is reported by the Longmont Times-Call as saying:

I am not going to lie, what would you do if someone broke into your house at 2:30 in the morning? I’m a single woman.

The Denver Post reports that although the attempted robbery and stabbings happened Saturday morning, Dust, the accomplice, was not found until Monday. Detectives returned to Cordova’s home where they found Dust’s body at the edge of her property, the Longmont Times-Call reports, when according to the police report Cordova said:

Oh my God, I didn’t know that I killed him. They were coming for me. They were coming for me.

The investigation got more complex when it was discovered that Erikson met Cordova two weeks prior, learned that Cordova ran a medical marijiuana business out of her home and then scouted her home for a later burglary by posing as a home repair consultant to Cordova. Erikson had even robbed Cordova’s house once before, either Friday or earlier Saturday, and then later returned on Saturday with Dust to rob her again, the Longmont Times-Call reports.

Cordova is being held in Weld County Jail on $400,000 bail.

Roommate Charged in Stabbing Death of Tenn. Basketball Player.

The campus of Middle Tennessee State University was in mourning today after police charged a roommate in the fatal stabbing of women’s basketball player Tina Stewart.

Stewart, a 21-year-old junior guard from Memphis, died Wednesday night at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after being stabbed multiple times at an off-campus apartment complex, police said today.Stewart’s roommate, 18-year-old freshman Shanterrica Madden, has been charged with first-degree murder. “There was an argument,” Murfreesboro police spokesman Kyle Evans told The Daily News Journal of Murfreesboro. “During that argument, Madden stabbed the victim.”

Reached by phone today at the Memphis home of Stewart’s parents, her aunt Diane Williams said the family is going through a “very hard time” but is “doing OK.” She told AOL News that Stewart’s parents, Ida and Adrian Jackson, are at the university.

Murfreesboro police told AOL News today that they received an anonymous phone call Wednesday night about a disturbance and responded to Stewart’s apartment. Evans said Stewart’s boyfriend, whom he would not identify, was at the scene outside the apartment when police arrived but is not a suspect in her slaying. And he said rumors that the altercation stemmed from a love triangle were false. The 26,000-student public university was devastated by the news.

“The anguish we feel cannot be adequately expressed,” university President Sidney McPhee said in a statement posted on the school’s website.

He said grief counselors were being made available, and a vigil was planned for tonight. A memorial was set up on campus for people to leave expressions of their feelings.

“Our hearts are heavy with grief and our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family,” he said.

Athletic Director Chris Massaro called Stewart’s death an incredible loss. “She was a great kid, she was a fighter and she was a competitor,” he told The News Journal. “When I think of her right now, I think of her smile and grin. She would light up a room. It’s hard to describe, it’s hard for me to find words. I wish you all could have got to know her.”

On a university memorial page set up in Stewart’s honor, friends and fellow athletes expressed their grief. “You will definitely be missed Tina. I’ll miss seeing you on my way to practice and in the training room ♥ love you,” Jamarious Jones, a Middle Tennessee State University varsity track and field runner, wrote today.

Stewart averaged 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 28 games this season. Her team, the Blue Raiders, is the No. 1 seed from the East and is scheduled to play in the Sun Belt Conference tournament Friday. So far, there are no plans to pull out of the tournament, but Massaro said that could change.

“We’re scheduled to leave Friday, but all of that is secondary right now,” he said Wednesday night, according to The Commercial Appeal. “Right now, there’s no decision, nothing. It’s not even been addressed.”

Stewart graduated from Memphis Central High in 2008, where she was a star guard on the school’s basketball team.

Middle Tennessee State University women’s basketball coach Rick Insell called the death “a coach’s nightmare,” according to the newspaper.

Police said they have no other suspects.

Facebook Diaper Feud Ends in Young Woman’s Fatal Stabbing.

A teenage mother is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing her friend over a dispute about a $20 loan that escalated into a Facebook feud.

Kamisha Richards, 22, died after being stabbed in the chest with a steak knife Monday night inside an apartment in the east New York neighborhood of Brooklyn, police said.

Kayla Henriques, 18, was arrested early Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Investigators are still trying to determine what exactly happened between the two young women, who were described as lifelong friends. Richards was dating Henriques’ brother, Ramel.”We cannot comment on what is going on in the investigation,” a New York Police Department spokeswoman told AOL News today. However, a heated exchange on Facebook offers a glimpse into a possible motive.

About three days before the stabbing, the two women had gotten into a dispute that started with a $20 loan, according to The New York Times. Richards had lent her friend the money so Henriques could buy Pampers for her 11-month-old son, but Richards became furious when she found out that Henriques had spent the cash on something else, the report said.Over the weekend, the argument escalated via Facebook comments and text messages.

“U don’t do 4no 1. … I have no kids and I refuse 2take care of any1 elses so yeah I will be needing that $20. … this the last time u will con me into giving u money,” Richards posted at about 5:44 p.m. Sunday, according to London’s Daily Mail.

Henriques replied, “Dnt try to expose me mama but I’m not tha type to thug it ova facebook see u wen u get frm wrk.”

The argument continued, and at 8:52 p.m., Richards said, “Ima have the last laugh,” to which Henriques replied: “We will see.”

Roughly 24 hours after the last message was posted, Richards reportedly went to Henriques’ apartment and confronted her about the money. The argument began in the kitchen and continued in a bedroom, where Richards was stabbed, police said.

Richards stumbled out into a hallway, where she was found by one of Henriques’ relatives.

“She wasn’t panicking,” the relative told the New York Daily News. “She was calm. I called the ambulance and put pressure on [the wound]. I did everything I could to try to save the girl.”Responding paramedics transported Richards to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators reportedly found the steak knife at the crime scene and followed a blood trail to a neighboring apartment building, where Henriques was arrested.

According to the Times, Henriques is an 11th-grader at John Adams High School. The newspaper said Richards had graduated from John Jay College in May with a degree in criminal justice. She worked as a security guard at JPMorgan Chase in Manhattan and planned to attend Brooklyn Law School.

“We are very saddened by this tragic situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with Kamisha’s family and friends,” JPMorgan Chase said in a statement to The Wall Street Journal. “She was an extraordinary employee who had a wonderful reputation among her colleagues, and she will be deeply missed.”
